Lace is a huge trend this spring!  The 2012 runways were covered with Lace ranging from patchwork, layered designs in Mui Mui to Louis Vuitton’s eyelet pastel designs with a 1960’s spirit.  The styles walking down the runway varied between light and youthful to dark and sophisticated and each designer presented such a different take on the classic fabric.  We loved them all!!!!! The feminine print of Lace mixed with this season’s pastels are a great way to dive into that Spring fashion.

The Louis Vuitton Spring 2012 show was the ultimate mix of nostalgic whimsy.  It brought us back to the days when carousels and ballet pink baby doll dresses were the stuff dreams were made of.  Louis V’s Spring ad campaigns weren’t any less magical either.  However, we realize that there is a fine line between timeless glamour or just plain frilly.  The key to not over-doing lace is to pair it with something edgy.  Maybe a lace shirt layered with a denim button up or an army jacket.  Also lace shorts are very stylish right now. You can pair them with a rocker tee and boots or an over-sized sweater and heels. There are a few examples of this above or check out Free People…they do an amazing job with layering different fabrics and styles.  No matter what you do with lace it will always be classic and timeless because it has such an ethereal feel about it.  So during those warm spring days sport a white breezy lace top or go bohemian with a flowing lace dress, large accessories and fringe boots and at night, opt for that little lace black dress (LLBD) or a sultry red pattern.  Experiment and have fun with it!  Here is our take on that timeless lace!  Thanks for reading!!  K&A
