Happy Halloween!!  The holiday that adults can play dress-up!!  What a fun time of year!!!!  A time, when we can dress up and play a role we have secretly dreamed of always being.  The ideas are endless and that is where the fun and creativity comes in! Pictured above are a handful of costume ideas I have thought about being over the years!!  This Halloween, I’m in North Carolina and Andee is in Greece (Lucky girl).  So, we didn’t get to do our traditional last minute Halloween shopping together and I won’t be dressing up.  So, I’m going to be vicariously living through all the wonderful costumes I see!!!  So whether, you are dressing up yourself, your kids or even your dogs (if your like me), we hope you have a fun night full of parties, pumpkins and of course CANDY.  Hope everyone has a haunting, but safe Halloween.  Signing out from North Carolina, Happy Halloween Y’all!!!

We are consumed in glossy pages and couture bliss now that the September issues are hitting the stands.  Even after what seems like 10 lbs. of Vogue pages we still can’t get enough!  One of my absolute favorite things to do is to find a cozy spot and get lost in a good mag, so when I received my rather large Vogue in the mail the other day it felt a little like Christmas in August.  It’s the little things in life!  On another note, these quotes both really hit home.  Two things we try to live by…go big and it’s never too late!  I hope you enjoy this random selection of Eye Kandee Monday.  Beauty is in the eye of the beholder…

Shades are, of course, a staple piece during the summer and we say the bigger the better!  Not only because we all want to look like the next starlet, but also this time of year you are most likely soaking up the sun like it’s going out of style and the bigger they are, the more protection you’ll get.  Huh!  So there was logic behind Jackie O’s classic look.  There are so many stylish sunnies to choose from this time of year and since we’re on the down swing of summer it’s the perfect time to buy because they’re all going on sale!  One of our absolute favorite brands is House of Harlow.  Designed by Nicole Richie, these shades stand out with their distinct boho style and right now on House of Harlow they are all marked down to $50!!  Perfect time to find that dream pair!

There are certain times in a girl’s life when she dresses for her man and then there are those times when it’s all about what feels good, even if it is a complete man-repeller.  Insert: HAREM PANTS.  Yep, that’s right!  harem pants, drop-crotch, Hammer pants…They’re back from the dead.  This is one of those items that can either look bad ass or just plain old bad news!  Either way, they’re going to be a turn off to the opposite sex and that’s ok!!  We think women’s fashion should always be about what you love, because if you feel good, you’re confident and confidence is always sexy.  With that said, they do have to be styled the right way, so take some tips from these pics… A slightly fitted harem seems to be more flattering (if you can use the word flattering and harem in the same sentence).  Offset the bagginess with high-heels, and don’t go too loose on top.  We are currently obsessed with Free People‘s Mermaid Sequin Harem pants…a little gypsy, and a little luster!  If only we could figure out a way to justify a purchase that big, that may or may not lead to a ‘WTF!!’ moment in the future.  Until then, we will embrace because frankly we think they’re pretty bad ass!

    Talk about bedazzle!!! This studded trend has been spotted on every wearable item imaginable.  Ok, we know it’s not new…the studded trend has been around for a while now.  We’re still loving it!!  Everyone else must be too because it’s definitely still hot!! It’s a cool way to dress up any pair of tennis shoes or add edge to a pair of jeans or a leather jacket.  The studded look definitely gives off a rocker chic vibe!  The jean shorts are a personal favorite especially the ones Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton are wearing at their 2010 Sass and Bide runway show in the first picture above.  The fun thing about this studded trend is it can be a DIY project.  We have been wanting to experiment with a pair of heels in our closet that need a little refreshing.  So keep posted for a DIY project!!   Happy Hump day!     Lace is one of my all time favorite fabrics!  Ever since I was a little girl, I remember loving lace and how it reminded me of the free-spirited sixties and all the glorious bohemian fashion.  I so wish I lived during that fashion era!!  It embodies such a vintage feel and it is one of those materials that will forever be classic.  I found this bodysuit at American Apparel and thought it would be a great piece to have in my wardrobe, especially because I’m a huge fan of black.   Lately, I have been really inspired by Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow jewelry and headpieces. So I dug into my jewelry box on a hunt to find something I could use to mimic that style! I found a necklace I purchased from American Eagle Outfitters and thought it was the perfect fit. It added just the right amount of gypsy touch and gave the outfit a different feel.  It’s always a bonus to be able to use an accessory in more ways than one.  Checkout some more great headpieces here.  Our Rock the Red post inspired me to top off the look with some red lips, which is a little out of my comfort zone, because I’m a clear lip gloss kind of girl!
