Pink hair is becoming something of the norm lately.  Designers like Zac Posen and Vivienne Westwood sent models down the 2011 runways with pastel colored manes and it has been flowing over into this seasons trends.  Up and coming model Charolette Free has a lot to do with this pink hair revolution. Most woman, at one point or another have wanted to go pink, even if just for one day.  We realized that pink hair is not new.  It has been in and out of popularity all throughout history, even as early as Maria Antoinette.  Why are people so fascinated with blush-colored hair?  It has definitely evolved since the 80’s and 90’s from a neon punk pink to a soft cotton candy pink.   We love it!! Not because it’s rock and roll, but because it’s…well, pretty!  It’s definitely something that can easily look tacky but there are a few that can pull it off with fashion forward sophistication.  Example: Sienna Miller below.

Even if it’s only but a fantasy for most of us, it makes for great photos.  When Charolette Free was asked why she went pink she replied, “I was really unhappy, so I dyed my hair. And then I wasn’t sad anymore.”  What great words to live by!  K&A
